Hi, people! I hope that by the time you have reached this section of work for recovering the missing hours, you have no doubts still. Now we are going to do some exercises of what we already have seen in class:THE PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE.
First of all, I will remind you the usage of this verbal tense, how it is composed and finally, you will find some exercises. Got it?
Usage: We use the past continuous to talk about something which was in progress at a past time. The action or situation had started but it had not finished at that time.
Form: We form the past continuous with was / were + verb + ing.
Exercise:
Put the verbs in brackets into the correct form.
1.- We __________ (go) down in the lift when suddenly it stopped.
2.- _________ (they/have) dinner when you called to see them?
3.- When the doorbell__________ (ring) I got up and answered.
4.- WhenI opened the door, a friend of mine ___________(stand) there.
